Pandanda has Gone!

(Originally by Henry!)

Dear Pandas,

Pandanda Online Game for Kids
Pandanda Online Game for Kids
It is with great sadness that we have had to close Pandanda, as of Sunday, October 28th 2012.

Pandanda has been a labor of love and we are deeply saddened that due to financial reasons, we can no longer sustain ongoing development. Over the past four years we have grown an amazing community and we will miss you all. Your enthusiasm and creativity has been such a joy to everyone on the Pandanda team. Thank you to our loyal fans and members for all of your love and support over the years.

-The Pandanda Team

It's gone! Pandanda has closed...
We will find another website to write about. I have one about SmallWorlds called, "SmallWorlds Console" But I never play SmallWorlds anymore. Also, SmallWorlds is an age 13+
Safe, Goofy and I will all find another, age sutable website to write about. We will announce what it is about and what it is called when we have made one.

Henry says thank you for all of the emails of support that you have sent him. He has read them all.
Your offers of donations, suggestions of ways to keep Pandanda open, memories of happy times, expressions of sadness, compliments about the game, and even concern for Henry and the Moderators have been very touching, and much appreciated.

Henry says there is no need to worry about him, the Moderators and the rest of the Pandanda Staff and Team. They will be fine. They are sad, of course, as they know you all are. It is hard to lose something that means a lot to you.

Henry and the rest know that each of you will be fine, too! They hope that you will find something new and fun to do in the time that you used to spend in Pandanda. Read, write, dance, sing, exercise, play outside, explore new things, maybe even find a virtual world that is almost as fun as Pandanda has been!

Pandanda has closed so you can send any Pandanda memories that you want to share. Please send them to pinguandsafespdconsole@hotmail.co.uk and make sure to include your Pandanda name.

The Farewell Party has been and gone at 11am Pandanda Time yesterday, Sheriff Steele, Mod MoonGlow, and Henry visited Pandanda. They tried to see as many pandas as they can, so they traveled a lot, saying their goodbyes to our friends. But if, for some reason, they didn't get to see you personally, they send out all their Pandanda thanks, love, and best wishes to you all!
Goofyericson got to see the Farewell Party and she took pictures and put them on in the last post!

I (Pingu83846) leveled up to Level 51 for the last time yesterday.

Party on, all over the world Pandas!

New Account Management Features!

(Originally by Henry! ... and a bit by Sheriff  Steel!)

Heya!

I am excited to tell you about some new Account Management features Pandanda has added to the Pandanda website. You can follow that link to get there, or go to the Membership page, then click on Manage Account in the menu. You do not have to be an Elite member to use Account Management. This is for everyone!
Once on the Account Management page, you can login with your Panda name and password to access the features. You can check your membership status if you are an Elite member. If you have a recurring monthly Elite membership it will tell you the date your membership will next renew on. You will also see a link to cancel your recurring membership.

If you have a non-renewing Elite membership (for example, a 6 or 12 month Elite, or an Elite bought with a Gift Certificate) it will tell you the date your membership will expire. Since it is not necessary to cancel a non-renewing Elite membership, you will not see a cancellation link.

Also on the Account Management page, you can see the email address that you used when you created your account, the date that you created your account, and the chat mode your account is in, either Safe or Filtered.

You can now change your chat mode yourself! Simply click the link where it says "To change your Chat Mode preference". An email will be sent to the address your account is registered to. That email has a link that you must click to complete the Chat Mode change. If you changed your mind, and don't really want to change your Chat Mode, you can just delete that email, and your Chat Mode will remain the way it was.

If you change your mind after you have already clicked the link in the email, don't worry! You can log back into your Account Management page and change your Chat Mode again!

If you need to contact Customer Support with any questions or comments about your account or about Pandanda, you can click the link where it says "To contact Customer Support".

Sheriff Steele has a bit of important advice he wants to share with you. Take it away, Sheriff!
Sheriff Steele here! Pandanda Citizens, it is very important that you keep your Pandanda password completely private. Remember, when you tell someone your password, you are letting them go on your account and do pretty much anything they want. Is it worth taking the chance of having them sell all of your things, or even getting you banned? Your account is YOUR responsibility. Keep it safe! Sheriff Steele, signing off!

Thank you, Sheriff, for those words of advice! Pandas, I will have some more information about using the new Account Management features this week. And don't forget, the fantastic Friendship Festival will begin on Friday. I can't wait!

Friday the 13th Winners!

(Originally by Henry!)
Sorry it is late! Saturday the 14th of January 2012!

Hey pandas!

Looks like most of you weren't too worried about Friday the 13th! Out of 263 pandas who have voted in the poll on Henry's Blog so far, only 52 of you think Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. 118 pandas think it's a lucky day, and 93 of you think it's just a regular day, no luckier or unluckier than any other day.

But I bet if you ask monaika, Andrutzapwp, Frumusika19, Mrsclemo, and Puccacutie19 about Friday the 13th, they would each say LUCKY DAY! That's because those are the 5 players who each won a 1-month Elite Gift Certificate just for logging into Pandanda on Friday the 13th. Congratulations! Each of those pandas should check the email account their panda is registered to for their Gift Certificate link!

Sheriff Steele and Henry made lots of surprise, and sometimes secret, visits to Pandanda on Friday, and handed out lots of Panda Gold to unsuspecting pandas! You might not have seen them, because they were REALLY sneaky lol!

Party on, Pandas!

Snowman Day Tomorrow!

(Originally by Henry in a different post! Chose to put part of that post in a separate post on mine and Safe's blog.)

Hey guys!

This Tuesday, December 20th will be Snowman Day! Collect as many stocking stuffers as you can between now and Tuesday so you can get lots of Frosty Potions from Chilly the Snowman. We are going to fill Pandanda with snowpandas! Check out this picture from last year's snowman invasion:
Henry is going to ask Sheriff Steele if he can drop in on Snowman Day. He has told him that lots of pandas want to see him, and this would be a great day for a visit! I'll let you know what he says on this blog and Henry will let you know on his! That would be really exciting because me and Safe have never met him before! Safe99 joined in January 2011. Can't remember what day because that account got banned, but I made him a new account which was Safe9999 that joined September the 18th 2011. I joined January the 8th 2010.

On Friday, December 23rd - Christmas Eve Eve - it will be Christmas Outfit Day. Put on your most Christmasy clothes, then join your friends around the big Christmas Tree in Bear Hollow to sing Christmas songs!

Merry Christmas!

Sheriff Steele's Security Tips - Account Security

(Origanly by Henry!) Maybe Sheriff Steele.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Hi again, Pandanda Citizens,

I hope you have all learned a lot about keeping your Pandanda account safe this week. With a strong, hard-to-guess password that you keep completely private, you can pretty much know that your account will be safe and secure.

Here are a few last tips to help make sure that your panda, and all of the things you have worked so hard to collect and buy, will be secure:

Do not check the “Remember my password” box on the login page if you play Pandanda on a public computer, such as at school or the library, or even at home where other people play.

  • If that box is checked, all anyone has to do to go on your account is click on your panda’s picture.
  • Always log out of Pandanda when you go away from your computer. It is also a good idea to close the Internet browser.
Make sure your computer is updated with good anti-virus and anti-spyware program
  • Pandanda has many security features in place to protect your account information, but it is up to you to protect your own computer.
Only use an account that you have created yourself, using your own email address.

  • If you use an account that someone else made, that person still has control over the account because it is registered to their email address.
Don't forget, if you ever forget your username or your password, you can use the "I forgot my password" link. By entering your email address there, you will receive an email that shows the username and password for all of the accounts registered to that address. And if you need to change your password, use the "Change my password" link. You can find both of those links at the bottom of the Pandanda login page.

Keep it safe, Pandas!

Sheriff Steele's Security Tips - Password Privacy

(Origanly by Henry!) Maybe Sheriff Steele.

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Hello Pandanda Citizens,

I heard from a lot of you that my last blogpost inspired you to make your passwords stronger. That makes me so pleased, and proud of you! Your password is the first line of defense in keeping your Pandanda account safe.

Now that you have a strong password, you must keep it private! If you tell it to even one person, you have put your account at risk. Remember, not even a member of the Pandanda Staff will ever ask you for your password.

Here is today's tip for keeping your Pandanda account secure:
Never tell your password to anyone, for any reason

  • Don't tell your password to anyone in Pandanda, or in any other place, such as a chatroom, message board, a blog, in an email, over the phone, by text, or in person.
  • Don't tell your password to your friends, brother, sister, cousin, or anyone else (except your parents).
  • Don't tell your password to the person who says they will get coins for your account, take care of your dragons, do Quests for you, collect Festival items for you, or anything like that.
  • Don't tell your password to the person who promises to make you an Elite member.
  • Don't tell your password to the person who says they just want to see what you have on your account.
  • Don't tell your password to the person who wants to trade accounts with you.
  • Don't tell your password to ANYONE, even if they promise they will not do anything to your account.
Remember, if you tell your password to anyone, anything that might be done to your account is your responsibility.

Not sure if your password is private? All you have to do is change it! Use the Change My Password link at http://play.pandanda.com/, and follow the tips I gave you on Tuesday for creating a strong password. Then keep that password completely to yourself!

Stay tuned for more important security tips, coming soon!

Keep it safe, Pandas!

Sheriff Steele's Security Tips - Strong Passwords

(Origanly by Henry!) Maybe Sheriff Steele.

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

Hello Pandanda Citizens,

Sheriff Steele here, with some advice on creating a strong and secure password for your Pandanda account. Did you know that the best protection for your account is a strong password that NOBODY knows? (Well, you can, and should, tell your parents, but that's it!) Telling your password to anyone - even your best friend - gives that person permission to go on your account. And while they are on your account, they can do pretty much whatever they want. Just remember, YOU are responsible for your account, no matter who goes on it!

Here is today's tip:
Make a password that is VERY hard to guess.

  • Your password should be completely different from any other password you have used.
  • A strong password is one that cannot be found in the dictionary.
  • A strong password contains at least six characters - more is better. However, the limit is 18.
  • Your password should contain a mix of numbers and capital and lower case letters.
  • Your password should be something someone who knows you can't guess.
  • Never use any part of your real name, Pandanda name, or email address in your password.
Today would be a great day to check the strength of your password. If it doesn't pass the test, go ahead and create a new one! Just go to http://play.pandanda.com/, scroll to the bottom and click on Change My Password.

I'll have another security tip for you this week. Thanks for reading!

Keep it safe, Pandas!
Sheriff Steele
